"Congratulations on a wonderful
evening of nostalgia and music! And congratulations on another magnificent
collection of rare Winnipeg recordings.
You have contributed so much to preserving and promoting the amazing legacy of
Winnipeg rock 'n' roll. Kudos to you, Shawn.
I thought Justin Tyme and Rick Pearson were the absolutely highlights of the
show. Who knew Donnie Gunter still had the pipes! He was amazing.
And to hear Rick Pearson do "Merilee" and "Pretend" live was
like a dream come true"
"'Twas awesome. It was great to catch up with all the other players from
the other bands - hardly any of us recognized the others though"
"I attended the Wpg Rock Reunion and had a great time. Rick Pearson was
awesome!
I noticed that the event was being filmed and hope that there will be a DVD of
all the acts for sale soon"
"It was a great event…you should be very pleased with the outcome!"
"What a memorable night. Wonderful music & wonderful memories - I was
so happy to see old friends again.
At the same time I was disappointed that some musicians made could come from
the USA, Hawaii, all over Canada,
yet it seemed to be too much of an effort for some musicians that were right in
Winnipeg.
Whatever their petty reasons might have been, they really missed out on a fun
evening!
I don't think there will be a "next time" for this era of Winnipeg
rockers. Thank you so much Shawn"
"When I closed my eyes
at this concert, I could have been back in River Heights Community Centre or
Crescentwood Community Centre in the 1965 to 1969 time period. Thank you for
the time and patience to put the concert together"
~ Paul Newsome (formerly with Musical Odyssey)
"I can't imagine the hours you must have put
into this, and it came off without a hitch. Kudos galore!!"
"Awesome show Saturday night. As one of the younger attendees (51) I've
always like 60's Winnipeg rock but didn't know what to expect.
I wasn't to be disappointed. Satan & The D-Men stole the show. I watched as
they carefully climbed the steps to the stage.
I thought to myself "One of these guys is going to collapse onstage."
Then the lights went on them and POW, off came 30+ years.
Keep up the great work Shawn"
"Can't tell you how much fun we had doing your show. It'll take at least a
week to decompress from the whole spectacular experience.
Thanks so much for the CD (Buried Treasures). Can't stop listening to
it!!!"
~ David Abbott (keyboards for Hank Turko/Justin Tyme/Rick Pearson)
"I thought Saturdays show was very successful. Hope you feel the same.
Thanks for the opportunity in allowing an old guy to feel young again"
~ Len Fidkalo (Shondels/Quid)
"What a wonderful evening of entertainment, singing, and dancing. It
was very nice to see everyone up on the dance floor, enjoying the evening.
A special thank you to Shawn for making it all happen. We were very honored to
be in Winnipeg for this special moment,
that will stay with us forever" ~ Rick & Ardelle Pearson
"Just a note to thank you for all your work to put this program
together. Thank you from the Pallbearers. We had a great time.
It was fun to see all the oldies again, and to play to such an appreciative
audience. This was a big risk you took for the love of Winnipeg music"
~ Dave Hyatt (Pallbearers)
"Thanks for having us play at your gig - the night was
magic"
~ Terry Toski (Pallbearers)
"Thanx for all your hard work to make the reunion show a success. As a
band and as individuals, we had the best time ever.
It was a wonderful experience and one we'll never forget. We owe it all to you!
Thanx again my friend!!! You are the best!!!"
~ Terry Stiles (Satan & The D-Men)
"This was a wonderful experience for Don and me. We thank you for the
opportunity to be on stage again, together, after 40 years.
It was a great night and I give all the credit to you"
~ Jim Maxwell (Justin Tyme)
