"My
congratulations on the tremendous job you did with this Franklin
compilation! Well researched, excellent layout, and most
importantly you've preserved a very special chapter of Canadian music
history! A project of this scope requires time and tenacity
that too few are willing to invest, so be proud of yourself for making
it happen. I know there are many here in Winnipeg who are thrilled
with the results!" |

UPDATE
A few notes for those Winnipeg area fans
regarding the liner notes of my packaging.
Regarding "Blakewood Castle": Derek Blake (aka Derek Bilyk) is alive
and working with the postal service in Winnipeg.
Still playing guitar & writing songs in the privacy of his home...not
deceased as many expected.
The whereabouts of the group's lead singer "Lonnie Pannell" are still
unknown, even to his family,
but they have passed a photo of "Blakewood Castle" along to me.
John Einarson writes in "this is probably the last lineup of the group,
myself on the left, Dave Mann (drums), Bryan McDowell (bass) & Lonnie
Pannell (vocals)".
